Hello!

I've installed vmware-player, but can't start it. It outputs a lot of
messages (none of them seems to be error msgs) and gives back the prompt:

szept 08 10:21:19.939: app| Logging to /tmp/vmware-root/setup-8401.log

I use version app-emulation/vmware-player-2.5.5.328052.
It wont start even if I add a virtual machine config file parameter to
vmplayer.
Is there any trick to start it?

Thanks,
István

Have you tried starting it as a plain user, or is vmplayer meant to be started
as root?

"VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force vmplayer" works!
(now I have problem with vmware modules, but this will be another thread...)

Thanks,
István
