No, although I do have a few fonts and a couple extra in ~/.fonts, but the= =20 application opens straight away. The image does not have fonts in it and i= t=20 opens reasonably fast. As soon the user zooms in or pan around the image t= hen=20 the slow rendering starts. I have now looked a bit more into this problem and it seems that inkscape i= s=20 slower in MSWindows (dual boot machine). So I concluded that this is an=20 inkscape issue, rather than Gentoo specific. Also, googling around it seems that zooming in a lot (more than 1000%) or=20 using many filters (as this user is on the particular image) slows down=20 inkscape: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3D5&t=3D8721 As suggested in the thread above, a work around until the inkscape code is= =20 improved is to change the View mode to 'No Filters'. This trick restores=20 rendering speed to reasonable levels. =2D-=20 Regards, Mick --nextPart2202286.gIxrr955fo Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.17 (GNU/Linux) iEYEABECAAYFAk3Ywc0ACgkQVTDTR3kpaLZOqQCfRQQ/xN6a9iW0KYuxSZ5nEQmX EcIAoNjvN2Jos83vb9PfNoo/62i9KNZD =T+jo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart2202286.gIxrr955fo--
