I don't seem to have this in my runlevels: >=20 > $ ls -l /etc/runlevels/ > total 16 > drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 18 20:39 boot > drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jun 8 2010 default > drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 21 2010 nonetwork > drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 21 2010 single Another thing I found, is some incongruity about the file in which the $EDI= TOR=20 and $PAGER should be defined. The migration guide says: "The EDITOR variable is no longer found in /etc/rc.conf. Both EDITOR and PA= GER=20 are set by default in /etc/profile. You should change this as needed in you= r=20 ~/.bashrc (or equivalent) file or create */etc/env.d/99editor* and set the= =20 system default there." On the other hand the /etc/profile file seems to recommend /etc/profile.d/ "# You should override these in your ~/.bashrc (or equivalent) for per-user # settings. For system defaults, you can add a new file in /etc/profile.d/. export EDITOR=3D${EDITOR:-/bin/nano} export PAGER=3D${PAGER:-/usr/bin/less}" Which one is the authoritative place to define a system wide editor? =2D-=20 Regards, Mick --nextPart9605431.O7f7RWX62O Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.17 (GNU/Linux) iEUEABECAAYFAk2+gf4ACgkQVTDTR3kpaLbytwCY7/n7rLMcalgdR/gxix6lAwk+ sACghIPF28RWAQlkLLwq2a/jLDw0r3I= =yLUB -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart9605431.O7f7RWX62O--
