I've tried that, it still fail
when I do
cd /usr/local/portage/layman/voip/net-misc/asterisk/
ebuild --force asterisk-1.4.22.1.ebuild manifest
it downloads a copy to: /usr/portage/distfiles
it creates manifest
I do:
ebuild asterisk-1.4.22.1.ebuild digest
but it still fails.
