Is anybody fixing Gentoo forum?
When trying to access it I get:

phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database

I get it often when I'm at work, and have "forever", but I've never
once gotten that error from home. I have no idea why it would make a
difference -- maybe it's simply the time of day. I just hit reload
until it works.

I hope so : ) 

It went down some time after 6 this morning (CST - noon UTC).

I sent an email to "webmaster@forums.gentoo.org" and it didn't bounce,
but I have no idea if anybody read it, or is fixing the problem. 

Anyway, it's only been down for, what, maybe 7 hours or so.  hopefully
it will come back up soon.

On gentoo-dev there was a post a few days ago about the forums being
moved to a new server cluster. Perhaps something's not well with the
new setup.

it's gone for ca 8h now. We will see. But IMHO it is time somebody updates 
www.gentoo.org with some information.

I forgot about that.  It could be that there was a . . . well . . .
hickup.  LOL  Maybe they will gt it sorted out soon.  At least the
mailing lists work.  ;-) 

I heard that facebook had some issues this morning, network related from
what they said on the news.  May not be related but one never knows.

yes, well, I sure hope it takes more than one.  they must have some
sort of replication thing going right?   I mean, if _i_ were hosting
forums.gentoo.org I would try hard not to have it depend on one box.

I noticed that (re)loading www.gentoo.org now takes around 10 seconds from the 
UK.  This is a significant delay compared to usual performance.  Not sure if 
people are loading this up to see what happened with the forums ...

everybody knows, if something goes bad, it will go bad in a way to cause 
maximum damage. ;)

Yeah, it's doing it here in MN, US as well.  I bet somethings up with
their servers.  Maybe a primary is down or something.
