Ha! I was blaming MSWindows for causing the PC to hang whenever I was tryin= g=20 to connect to the office file server (through a VPN session). My reasoning= =20 went that I shouldn't lose the whole machine for 10 minutes, while waiting= =20 for an error that it couldn't authenticate me on the domain controller. I= =20 blamed the OS for being stupid of course (not withstanding the outsourced=20 tech support who can't fix it). In the sense that neither Linux, nor Gento= o=20 constitutes a stupid OS, I think this is a bug. Fine for the=20 application/terminal to crash, but not the whole machine. =2D-=20 Regards, Mick --nextPart5634200.BBKTfgDm60 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBHx7q35Fp0QerLYPcRAhNmAJ4yDG2KLxV1PYvoXMXd16k9z4RpIQCggRaG v8rGgPsLQbPlb3N70qIajE8= =x+tC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart5634200.BBKTfgDm60-- -- gentoo-user@lists.gentoo.org mailing list
