I had an issue very similiar to this when I purchased my Acer Extensa 5620.= =20 After looking around for a long time I found out that the version of alsa=20 that was being used in my kernel at the time didn't well support my sound=20 card. I'm not sure about what alsa version is being used in the latest kern= el=20 now but it doesn't hurt to give it a go. Also, I had to modprobe=20 snd_hda_intel with model=3Dacer. Before inserting the module with the model= =20 param I was at the same exact spot you are at now. hope this helps =2D- Dan Dexter --nextPart3382377.LpMSECWR1v Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iQEVAwUAR597MjekYhfseZLuAQKYowf/TIfv3C9U3TZVSYp7k/bsgJKlH8JGkF96 HubPRPAxYiUijFWP+Q2QYJXEbwKKYlljOYv+dPLf/gNKuuPv52/2aCuRYhVBTwY9 Zcf0ote8UmE6eSvWq7iXjVheyWzaqj8UGF8mqiK2KfFTIIZVDAC9jLlysI6st/Xc YdsM7W6xmzWrQrBUE2mHqCHItelYRL93YlE44QHvHcD/t7v9Be6xdMMBRUb17ifA vug2Qupi62Q78eYI37jWHypVk2R0Gu//NCVg5ed1CpTD93mK2qIKAmbS+BhVAxEl yl5vh9Ck9StYM7Nv55te1qpm7Tl4ty0XCO/XT07jsJO6QZJKDn7qTA== =qGcr -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart3382377.LpMSECWR1v-- -- gentoo-user@lists.gentoo.org mailing list
