Thanks for the tip, the manual update was successful.
Now I have another problem, when I try to update portage with the emerge 
command:

# emerge -pv portage
!!! Problem with sandbox binary. Disabling...

!!! Problem with sandbox binary. Disabling...


These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

[blocks B     ] <dev-lang/python-2.3.6-r2 (is blocking 
app-admin/python-updater-0.2)

How can I resolve this blocking?
