The laptop is a Compaq Presario V5214ea The wifi card is a Broadcom 4311 (rev 1) I've been looking at the Gentoo Wiki page: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_BCM43xx The problem I've run into is with the kernel setup (kernel linux-2.6.21-gentoo-r4) Under Device Drivers --> Network device support --> Wireless LAN drivers "Broadcom BCM43xx wireless support" does not appear. Has it been removed from the kernel for some reason? Do I need to enable some other option in order to make this option available? I have enabled the PCI express support. Any clues would be most welcome Thanks Matt -- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Dr. Matthew R. Lee CASEB & ECIM Departamento de Ecologia, P.
