A note: usually wireless networks use DHCP for dynamically allocating IP-Adresses to the different clients. If you want to maintain an ssh-server on a machine connected to a wireless network that uses DHCP[1], you will have to tell the router to forward port 22 (or whatever other port= )=20 to your particular machine.=20 Sorry if I'm telling you something you may already know, but it's a way too common mistake ;-) Regards, Aleks [1] If you don't know whether or not you use DHCP, you probably do. I understand you're from Germany - I'm pretty sure most ISPs in Germany use PPPoE for wired and DHCP for wireless to connect their ADSL clients. --EXKGNeO8l0xGFBjy Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGsHhyrljAdGQVWuARAp/1AKCD4pddu/2qP6uJWknBV/YEAez0gQCfaP81 HiSvQfbX2heAm5R8I++7Rxo= =3SUK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --EXKGNeO8l0xGFBjy-- -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
