Hi All,

I've run MS Windows update on a dual boot box which has a Realtek
(RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ rev 10) card. I thought that the update just updated
the driver on MS Windows, but I fear it may have messed up the firmware. I
say this because when I boot in Linux either the 8139too module which is
built in the kernel (2.6.20-gentoo-r6) does not seem to work, or/and dhcpcd
times out.

eth0 is not shown under ifconfig by running /etc/init.d/net.eth0 after dhcpd
times out and it only comes up after I run ifconfig eth0 up.

Has anyone using this card noticed this? Is the kernel driver too old (is
there a later 8139too module)?

Mick
