Actually, we should encourage commercial entities to participate the in=20 =46ree Software movement, including letting them retain the ability to=20 charge for providing software, as long as they are willing to let users of= =20 the software retain their four freedoms. Microsoft has made some movement= =20 in this direction... > it takes away freedom - I am not sold to that 'must be good' aspect. Okay, this is off-topic, but it only takes away the freedom to take away=20 users' freedoms, something the GPL has always done. BSD doesn't take away= =20 any freedoms, but I'm unconvinced that it's a good thing for Free Software= =20 to be able to be "locked up". *I* think the GPLv3 is better, and that it would be good to move KDE toward= =20 GPLv3/LGPLv3 licensing. However, that is a decision that the project will=20 have to make as a group and it would require reimplementing or relicensing= =20 all the code licensed to the under the GPLv2. That's a tough sell. =2D-=20 Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. ,=3D ,-_-. =3D.=20 bss03@volumehost.net ((_/)o o(\_)) ICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy `-'(. .)`-'=20 http://iguanasuicide.org/ \_/ =20 --nextPart236940353.8aIMUb6Xqo Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBGnCKa55pqL7G1QFkRAhYuAKCL2rlK80lHYyck7+m1LcWdNgRddwCeNHOU tyxzEvYTVChEV7VMbu1GxCM= =ROC3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart236940353.8aIMUb6Xqo-- -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
