[gentoo-user] dev-ruby/rake-0.7.3 seems to hang?

I keep running into this issue with dev-ruby/rake-0.7.3 where it just
seems to hang. The HD light is solid and CPU just skyrockets. I have
nothing really else to show other than this, as I hit CTRL+C after a
while. I don't see a single bug for 'rake' in bugs.gentoo.org. 

Should I file a bug report?

Same here, but not on all machines. As far as I see, only
server installations are affected, not desktop
installations.

I tried to trace where the infinite loop happens but did not
succeed so far. Probably a job for a Rake expert.

Even worse! I detected that it's `rubygems-0.8.11-r6' that
hangs when it reads the gem tarfile.

So I decided to install version 0.9.4 of that. Now the
installation of rubygems itself hangs.

First, I thought this was caused by the old rubygems. So I
deinstalled that. Now I have neither!
