Using the amd64 Gentoo > LiveCD and the adm64 stage3 should work. If you don't want a 64-bit kernel (and therefore no 64-bit applications), y= ou=20 can go the 32-bit route and use the (i[[:digit:]]|x)86 liveCD and stage. I= =20 don't recommend this, but it may be preferred if you use software that is (= a)=20 non-portable (and not ported) or (b) only available in binary form=20 (non-Free). It is possible you are running into some problem with the liveCD, but as yo= u=20 other messages indicate you are able to see your drives and partition them,= =20 you simply can't perform the chroot -- which should only be an issue if (a)= =20 you are using a 64-bit stage from as 32-bit liveCD or (b) the stage tarball= =20 is corrupt or broken. =2D-=20 Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. ,=3D ,-_-. =3D.=20 bss03@volumehost.net ((_/)o o(\_)) ICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy `-'(. .)`-'=20 http://iguanasuicide.org/ \_/ =20 --nextPart3257671.BrBLAqliUq Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBGgAsP55pqL7G1QFkRAj0uAKCLHRtDB9uDpy4m5ED+bxCxMUrEdgCggdUF y+plonaK7nTnarmYlNGZ7Uw= =3JWo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart3257671.BrBLAqliUq-- -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
