Hi,

I have done a big update (about 400 MB) and now I see some incoherences
in my system (just about sylpheed and claws, not sure if is there
are more)

If I do a new emerge -uDpvt world I see this:

# emerge -uDpvt world

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

Calculating world dependencies... done!
[nomerge ] media-video/kaffeine-0.8.3 USE="encode gstreamer vorbis -arts -debug -dvb -kdehiddenvisibility -xinerama"
[nomerge      ]  media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.11  USE="alsa -debug -esd -oss"
[ebuild     UD]   media-plugins/gst-plugins-alsa-0.8.11 [0.8.12] 0 kB
[nomerge      ] x11-themes/sylpheed-iconset-20040929
[ebuild  N    ]  mail-client/sylpheed-2.3.0  USE="crypt nls spell ssl xface -ipv6 -ldap -pda" 2,563 kB
[nomerge ] media-video/kaffeine-0.8.3 USE="encode gstreamer vorbis -arts -debug -dvb -kdehiddenvisibility -xinerama"
[nomerge      ]  media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.11  USE="alsa -debug -esd -oss"
[ebuild     UD]   media-libs/gstreamer-0.8.11 [0.8.12] USE="-debug -doc" 0 kB
[ebuild U ] app-editors/nano-2.0.3 [2.0.2] USE="ncurses nls spell unicode -debug -justify -minimal -slang" 1,283 kB

sylpheed-iconset merges mail-client/sylpheed-2.3.0, which is the
japanees version of Sylpheed (http://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/), but looking
into iconset ebuild I saw:
DEPEND="virtual/sylpheed"
and I have no sylpheed in virtual...

So, why is iconset trying to emerge japanes sylpheed?

(I don't have it in my world file):

lx-arnau ~ # grep sylpheed /var/lib/portage/world
mail-client/sylpheed-claws-etpan-privacy
x11-themes/sylpheed-iconset
lx-arnau ~ # grep claws /var/lib/portage/world
mail-client/sylpheed-claws-etpan-privacy
mail-client/claws-mail

TIA

This suggests that you've added media-libs/gstreamer and gst-plugins-alsa to
package.keywords but neglected to do the same for media-libs/gst-plugins...

Is it? Really?

Because it's an old style virtual. mail-client/sylpheed contains:
PROVIDE="virtual/sylpheed".

# eix --compact --provide sylpheed
[N] mail-client/sylpheed ((~)2.3.1[1]): A lightweight email client and newsreader
