Now that I need to move to a new notebook= , I build another gentoo system where everything were smooth and I did a emerge world/systems to get everything update. Now the question is - how do get ge= ntoo to emerge the exact same number of package like my old notebook? I've attem= pted to move /var/lib/portage/world(which contain all the packages that I need) = to the new notebook and start a emerge world. I got an error and ask me to "em= aint -c" that I follow diligently which didn't quite help. I follow up with a "e= maint -f" and somehow it just get rid of all the packages that I need :(=20 Apologies for the cluessless question, is there an easier way to duplicate = the exact package on my old system to the new one?=20 Thanks in advance. --=20 SB http://www.employees.org/~sbng/pgp.txt Key fingerprint =3D 5945 5E12 25A9 2404 8900 E171 052C 33B6 E210 AB93 --2fHTh5uZTiUOsy+g Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: http://www.employees.org/~sbng/pgp.txt iD8DBQFFxEMJBSwztuIQq5MRAgx8AKDrKatEOxDdoj9yhX0I7Yx0IPPXdQCgqFny FYnUzqB4gQ/8qQHTg5Et+VQ= =0/1c -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --2fHTh5uZTiUOsy+g-- -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
