OK, I am going to resurrect this thread because I am still having problems with DPMS on my laptop. This NoPM option seems to make DPMS work correctly for the first time it should work (i.e., it turns the screen off the first time). But if I wake it back up with a mouse or keyboard event, it will never turn the screen back off again. Should I file a bug about this? With gentoo or with Xorg?
