Thank you. I've used Bart's PE LiveCD, but it won't run to complete bootin= g. =20 It hangs at the "detecting hardware . . ." stage. Same with a WinXP Pro=20 installation CD that I tried to use a year or so ago. Not sure if the=20 hardware is faulty or this machine will only accept a manufacturer's image= =20 CD. As it happens I've got all the important BIOS flash versions for this lapto= p,=20 but I noticed that more recent computers don't offer the DOS flashing image= s=20 anymore. =2D-=20 Regards, Mick --nextPart1314588.vR6Z54MfQK Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBFDHwM5Fp0QerLYPcRAiNoAJ9qjmXecwHmnGVoFaevLgCZFggNjACfcINB 3fOND89M/xMdfCfMm12SM0Y= =azMk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart1314588.vR6Z54MfQK-- -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
