Hi,

from time to time when shutdown is nearly complete (right before the
system's power goes down) udev spits a lot of messages onto the
 console.

It way to fast to notice anything. I recognized only, that udev is
the one with the "famous last words".

I checked the file below /var/log for anything useful, but founnd
 nothing.

Does anyone have any idea, what is triggering this "cry of the udev"
and what is going wrong there ?

Thank you very much for any help in advance!

 Keep hacking!

I didn't see the other one. Anyway, this may be because nobody has an idea
what's going wrong. Maybe the message you get would help.

Bye...

Hi Dirk,

any idea how I can "freeze" the shutdown process without harming the
system, so I have time to read those messages. I tried it several
times (the messages do not appear at any every shutdown) but it is
simply too fast. The only thing I could grasp from the screen is,
that udev is spitting out those.

Thank you very much for your help in advance !

 Kind regards,
 mcc

Try putting a "sleep" somewhere into /etc/init.d/halt.sh.

He can also hit the scroll lock key. I use it a lot when booting or
shutting down. It just pauses it until you hit the key again.

Hope that helps.
