I have alsa in the kernel (2.6.16.7 it's alsa-1.0.11) and it works for all devices... Probably I have a bad dmix configuration (the default one...)... Have you a idea how can I check the dmix configuration? I remember you I can't use midi because I have a SBLive!5.1 (it worked never...), but my audio system works properly...
