Type in man:portage in a konq= ueror=20 address bar, and look at all the options for setting up your /etc/portage= =20 directory files. The settings in these files will overide /etc/make.conf That way, you'll be able to emerge stuff that's in ~x86 in addition to x8= 6=20 (so-called "stable." It's common that the newest kde releases won't make= it=20 into x86 right away, so you need to "unmask" and "keyword" them. They alm= ost=20 always work fine. for example, I've been running kde 3.5 betas and rc1fo= r=20 many weeks- no problems.
