So, does anyone have a good suggestion for making some backups to DVD? I guess my concern is, will I have to create an image and then burn it? Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hdb3 3.0G 2.2G 862M 72% / /dev/hda4 10G 739M 9.3G 8% /usr/lib /dev/hda5 2.3G 2.0G 310M 87% /opt /dev/hda2 40G 34G 6.2G 85% /mnt/dump /dev/hda1 5.6G 2.7G 3.0G 48% /mnt/windoze . . . And then, if anyone has suggestions about fixing the partitioning, I'd be really and truly grateful. Disk /dev/hda: 100.0 GB, 100030242816 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 12161 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 5099 40957686 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/hda2 5100 10300 41777032+ 83 Linux /dev/hda3 10301 10857 4474102+ 5 Extended /dev/hda4 10858 12161 10474380 83 Linux /dev/hda5 10301 10600 2409718+ 83 Linux /dev/hda6 10601 10857 2064321 83 Linux My machine boots to hdb as per the bios, where LILO give an option to boot to hda/windoze. I resized the NTFS filesystem, but haven't fixed the partition. (I think I need my hand held to do it right... I don't _really_ care if it goes bye-bye - except in the rare case I might need it, I don't want to recreate it either.) Thanks for any replies. -- |\ /| | | ~ ~ | \/ | |---| `|` ? | |ichael | |iggins \^ / michael_higgins[at]iinet[dot]com -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
