If you want to keep using the 2.2.3 branch of python, go ahead and do emerge --oneshot =dev-lang/python-2.2.3-r6 if you run revdev-rebuild afterwards, it shouldn't rebuild python. If you don't insist on using 2.2.x of python, you can just emerge --oneshot --update python W -- A bicycle can't stand on its own because it is two-tired.
