Open k3b, choose one of the DVD project types from either

1. The big buttons on the lower half of the main screen

2. The button bar under the menu bar

3. The menu (File=> New Project => New Video/Data/eMovix DVD project,
depending on what type of DVD you're trying to create)

If you are burning a DVD ISO, you can just choose Tools=>Burn DVD image
to do so.

Once you have opened a new project type, drag the files you want to burn
from the file browser above to the project window below.

Then select 'burn' from either the menu, the main button bar, or the
project button bar.

What type of DVD are you trying to burn, and what is the problem that
you are having doing so?

Holly

Thanks a lot! I found "DVD data project", but it accessible only in menu
bar :-)

If you right-click on the lower half of the main screen (where it says
"Welcome to K3B", and has the buttons for fast project choice), you can
add and remove buttons; if you go to the 'Options' menu, and choose
'Configure Toolbar' (or 'Toolbar Options', my desktop is in Dutch, so I
don't know quite what it says in English), you can add and remove the
appropriate buttons to your toolbar.

This is one instance where knowing that KDE and KDE apps are insanely
configurable, in terms of the GUI presented, comes in quite handy.

Hi,
Here's the description for "dvdr" USE-flag:
 $ euse -i dvdr
global use flags (searching: dvdr)
************************************************************
[+ C ] dvdr - Adds support for DVD writer hardware (e.g. in xcdroast)

local use flags (searching: dvdr)
************************************************************
no matching entries found
...END...
Using that flag 'dvdr' i can *write* DVDs
