Isn't this included in the latest in-kernel alsa? At least I see an option for 'RTC Timer support' under the alsa submenu of 2.6.13-rc7. I'm not currently using the in-kernel alsa but I did try to enable the rtc options with the emerged alsa driver with no luck.
