Hi,

I want to emerge gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r31 but it has been deleted from
the rsync repository.

Is there a way to get the corresponding ebuild-file back to get it
emerged ?

BR
Thomas

Go to www.gentoo.org, click the "view our CVS" link on the sidebar,
scroll down to the sys-kernel folder, go to the gentoo-sources folder,
right-click the link to your preferred ebuild, and Save Link As to your
Overlay folder, from which you can then digest and emerge it.

It looks like you can grab it from cvs: http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources/. Use it at your own risk. It's been a while since I used a 2.4 kernel (before my gentoo days).

See
http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources/

Download the desired one, put it in your overlay, and use = to
emerge it.
