Hi!
When I try to start gvim, it errors out with this error message:
Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
Error: Aborting: no fontset found
What font is it trying to load?
I don't have a ~/.vimrc, ~/.gvimrc and also no /etc/vim/vimrc.local
or /etc/vim/gvimrc.local. /etc/vim/vimrc and /etc/vim/gvimrc are the
default files.
app-editors/gvim-7.0.91
app-editors/vim-7.0.91
app-editors/vim-core-7.0.91
Thanks,
Alexander Skwar

"Special", like? :)
I'm on:
alexander@blatt ~ $ locale

If I read /etc/vim/* right, there are no special fonts set for
my locale.

I don't have a ~/.Xdefaults file.
Do you use the same version of gvim as I?
Thanks,

I wasn't, so I installed it on my testing machine just to see.
I don't have the de_DE.UTF-8 locale, but I tested
de_DE@euro
fr_FR@euro
zh_TW
zh_HK
ja_JP
en_US
and don't see the same behaviour (which probably means my settings
[all defaults, I didn't change a thing] are okay).
What if you tried using a different locale, say POSIX? does the error
message still show up?
I am really groping in the dark here, so I don't even know if my
suggestion is on the right track or not.
