My el-cheapo webcam (lsusb: 0c45:602c Microdia Clas Ohlson TWC-30XOP WebCam) used the media-video/gspcav1 driver, but that no longer compiles: /var/tmp/portage/media-video/gspcav1-20071224/work/gspcav1-20071224/gspca_core.c:54:27: error: asm/semaphore.h: No such file or directory /var/tmp/portage/media-video/gspcav1-20071224/work/gspcav1-20071224/gspca_core.c: In function 'spca5xx_ioctl': /var/tmp/portage/media-video/gspcav1-20071224/work/gspcav1-20071224/gspca_core.c:2463: error: implicit declaration of function 'video_usercopy' etc. I discovered a number of gspca modules in the kernel: gspca_spca508 gspca_spca506 gspca_spca505 gspca_spca500 gspca_spca501 gspca_spca561 but I can't find out which one suits my webcam. usb id is above, and it's a freebie from a pc store, so it's branded with their logo and comes with no technical notes. I've tried loading each gspca_spca5xx module one by one, but none of them creates a video device (that I can tell). Any hints for what module to use? thanks! -- Iain Buchanan The probability of someone watching you is proportional to the stupidity of your action.
