I'm thinking about upgrading my parent's PC's graphic card because I have driver issues with their old Nvidia GF-2 MX which prevent me of using the closed source driver. Now I want to ask: What's the status of the ATI drivers? Does the free driver support 3D-acceleration on newer cards? Is the closed source driver still such a pain to setup? How about VIA or Matrox? I'd buy an Intel but I don't think they produce AGP- or PCI-cards, do they? Thanks in advance!
