For some reason gentoos install disables OO's native spell checker and wants to use an external one - Its performance (finding errors) sucks compared to the original but I havent had time find how to restore the original behaviour. Yesterday I found that none of the thesaurus are working as well - now I need to find out how (or if) I can enable that ... I thought policy was to use upstreams as much as possible and not go reconfigure things in a non-standard way. If I'm wrong, its because I couldn't find any documentation on what to do and it was an email on this list that helped me sort the spellcheck out originally. Another annoyance is that you cant select personal dictionaries and have them stay selected. Every time I start OO I have to go and reconfigure the user dictionaries available - wonder if this a side effect of the changes?
