On my system: 12:40:11 | 1 $ emerge -p =x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.28.8 These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! [ebuild N ] x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.28.8 USE="acpi opengl -doc" [blocks B ] x11-drivers/ati-drivers (is blocking x11-base/xorg-server-1.3.0.0) This means it is not fine to install them with a newer x-server on my arch (x86).
