Subject: [gentoo-user] bash-3.1 - Not honouring /etc/inputrc
Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 09:52:25 +0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <1143683545.19064.30.camel@neuromancer.home.net> (raw)

I run bash 3.0, I have this in my /etc/inputrc

"\M-[A": history-search-backward
"\M-[B": history-search-forward

which makes things like

$l<up-arrow>
$ls -l /tmp <up-arrow>
$ls -laR /tmp

when I upgraded to 3.1 this morning (emerge world), I lost this
behaviour. Between 3.0 and 3.1, there wasn't any config file changes
which could have caused this, so I don't know why it doesn't work.

If anyone has any ideas, would be great to hear them
