It appears to have started with the "2.6.15-gentoo-r1" kernel release and I suspect (correct me if I'm wrong) a "udev" update which happened around the same time IIRC. The System.map file is there. I have just updated to the new "2.6.15-gentoo-r2" kernel and the error message is still there.
