The saga contiues -- I downgraded to 1.7.7-r1 for xorg-server, recompiled the keyboard, mouse and video drivers and still the monitor just keeps switching between analog and digital, but only when gdm starts. OUtside of X the monitor acts normally. I also am using hal again for the keyboard and that seems to work now. -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it.
