I have = a new Gentoo=20 instalation on a laptop, and am one blocker away from emerge --update = --deep=20 --newuse world. The only problem is I'm not exactly sure how to resolve = the=20 block without potentially breaking the system.

My = instinct tells me=20 unmerge the current version, emerge the new version sans dependancy, = then update=20 world. But common sense is trying to tell me that's likely to cause all = kinds of=20 sideways breakage. Is there a better way to go about that process. I = know I've=20 installed this on both my servers, but I think man-pages-posix showed up = after=20 I'd already upgraded man-pages so there was no blocker. Again, though, = can't=20 remember. Thanks anyone for the help.
