Товарищи, здравствуйте!
Что у меня поломалось после апдейта, что часы скачут после каждго рестарта?

# /etc/conf.d/clock
CLOCK="local"

# ls | grep localtime
localtime -> /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Yekaterinburg

# rc-update show | grep clock
clock | boot

У меня скачут часы на vmware. Причем глюк этот крайне нестабильный.

IMHO, глюк исключительно в связке hardware+software clock.
Вот куда только пинать...

Пинать надо в сторону /etc/adjtime. Попробуйте его удалить (на всякий
случай сохранив в другом месте). Или более мягкий вариант: обнулите в
нём все данные с сохранением разрядности.

Я думаю вам надо удалить /etc/adjtime.

Try running 'hwclock --show --debug', and run it again a bunch of 
seconds later.  Is the hardware clock ticking?

Here's a sample output:

If it is ticking , then set the hardware clock to the correct time 
with 'hwclock --set --date=<thistime>', then throw away the 
/etc/adjtime file.  Throw it away, as it might be the adjusting 
feature that thinks your clock is drifting a full hour per hour 
(that is: ticks away two hours in one).

Do you need the "local" time thing?  If Linux is the only OS on your 
box it's easier to use UTC.

Your time zone is set correctly?  Where is /etc/localtime linking 
to?

Да в фидо как-то ходили прения, о том, что на некоторых платах с nf2 
(особенно epox) часы вели себя очень своевольно.
