щас при выборе компиз вылазиет:

Вот поэтому и не запускается. Можете проверить, запустив glxinfo | grep
pixmap и проверить. Я так понимаю, не поддерживается драйвером для вашей
карточки, которая у вас ati, как мне подсказывают телепаты.
