Hallo Andreas,

ein bisschen mehr Info zu deiner Systemkonfiguration wäre schön. Evtl.
emerge --info und ein komplettes-build log.

Hast du mal versucht 0.8.12 zu bauen? Hast du ein testing-System?

cool - zwar ein vergleichbarer Fehler, aber dennoch ein build-Log
(x11-libs/libICE), welches nicht zm Ursprungsproblem passt
(dev-libs/libIDL..) ;-)

Ich würde mal blind auf eine nicht befolgte Anleitung zum Update von
libxcb-1.4 und xorg-server-1.6 tippen..

Nicht dass ich wüsste. Müsste das nicht wenn, in der make.conf als
FEATURE eingetragen sein? Hab ich nicht.

Stimmt das müßte drin sein, ich habe ganz oben bei den Programmen
danach gesucht aber anscheinend steht das jetzt nicht mehr drin oder
nur in der verbose Ausgabe von emerge --info.

So, ich habe die Kiste mal durch ein emerge --empytree system geprügelt.
Folgende Pakete werden wegen dieses Fehlers nicht gebaut:

Ich bin ein Stückchen weiter.

Gar nicht gut.

Jetzt bin ich mir aber nicht sicher, wie ich das wieder richtig
hinbekomme. LC_ALL soll man ja nicht setzen. Das ist auf der Kiste
gesetzt, weil es in einem älteren Howto wohl mal so drin stand.

Testweise:
env LC_ALL=C emerge --update --deep --newuse libogg

ausgeführt und schwuppdiwupp, libogg baut.

Wie krieg ich LC_ALL sauber?

Hört mir überhaupt noch jemand zu?

Normalerweise wird die LC_ALL Variable in /etc/env.d/02locale definiert.
Zumindest dann, wenn ein "sauberes" HowTo benutzt wird. Dort würde ich

Dazu gleich eine Zusatzfrage, weil ich auch gerade damit zu tun hatte:

locale -a 
soll einem ja auflisten, welche Einstellungsmöglichkeiten man überhaupt hat. 
Dabei gibt es bei mir gar kein 'de_DE.UTF-8' sondern nur ein 'de_DE.utf8'. 
Habe dann die klein geschriebene Variante eingegeben, keinen Fehler bekommen 
(woran und wann würde ich denn merken, wenn ich was unerlaubtes eingegeben 
hätte?). Ist es etwa egal?

Vielleicht bin ich zu genau, aber ich denke man soll LC_ALL nicht
setzen? Nicht setzen würde für mich bedauten auch nicht auf leer setzen.

Offensichtlich nicht, denn jetzt sind meine GTK-Programme meistenteils
in Englisch. Was muss ich tun, damit die auch "de_DE" sind?

Wenn du LC_ALL nicht setzen willst dann solltest du es mit # auskommentieren. 
Sonst ist es mit halt mit einer leeren Zeichenkette gesetzt.
