Du kannst die KDE 4.x auch mit dem aktuellen stabilen Portage installieren.
Am einfachsten ist es, wenn du dir app-portage/autounmask installierst, und
dann mit
autounmask kde-base/kde-meta-4.2.4
alle benötigten Abhängigkeiten automatisch in die
/etc/portage/package.keywords
schreiben lässt.
Danach lässt sich KDE 4 ganz normal mit emerge kde-meta installieren.
