E ai gurizada!

Estou tentando instalar o plugin java para o Firefox, mas a flag 
nsplugin está bloqueada. O que fazer?

Você está usando amd64? Se sim, é provável que seja porque o plugin de java
para o firefox só foi lançado recentemente. Você pode tentar usar um browser
32 bits, ou usar o IcedTea da java-overlay, que tem o plugin para amd64.

Faltou a informação... Sim, estou usando amd64.

Existe alguma maneira de forçar um USE?

Acredito que não, pois nas versões que estão no portage, acho que ainda não
existe o plugin. Você pode instalar o "emul-linux-x86-java", mas vai
precisar do "mozilla-firefox-bin" (que é 32 bits) para poder usar o plugin.
Se quiser usar a java-overlay, pode instalar o "icedtea6-bin" ou "icedtea6"
e continuar com o browser 64 bits.

Se quiser usar o icedtea, faça isso sem pressa, pois a compilação dele
demora bastante, e na área temporária (/var/tmp/portage/) precisa de pelo
menos uns 4 gb  para compilar tudo ( o kernel usa nem 500mb) .

Testei a dica acima e funcionou perfeitamente, pena que apenas para o 
bin em 32bits, mas já resolveu o meu problema.

Vou testar a outra forma mais tarde, com calma.

	Alguém usa o Banco do Brasil em amd64 com este plugin? O que fiz em
minha máquina:

$ ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/icedtea6-bin/jre/lib/amd64/IcedTeaPlugin.so
~/.mozilla/plugins/

	É isso mesmo ou perdi algo?

Não sei, mas pelo que eu tinha lido, o IcedTea é 100% compatível com o da
Sun (inclusive o teste mostra como se fosse o jre da Sun).

Fiz o teste abaixo e usei o site do BB com sucesso.

	Também li isso. Por isso que fiquei muito animado quando soube que o
icedtea passou no teste da Sun. Mas eu não me surpreenderia de ver um
import sun... num dos fontes do BB.

	O jeito é esperar ou usar o vmWare ou instalar um monte de coisa 32 bits...
