pessoal, alguém tem um tutorial para fazer a instalação do compiz-fusion?

segui o tutorial do gentoo-wiki e não deu certo. quando eu tento 'rodar' o
compiz, da esse erro:

Pelo o que estou vendo voce utilizando o Nvidia driver, Você colocou as tag
especiais no Xorg.conf  para esse tipo de driver??

Olá!
a placa de vídeo que tenho no note é onboard, o modelo dela é Intel
X3100... o que exatamente devo colocar no xorg.conf?

Cara, eu vou te fazer uma pergunta, mas como eu nunca instalei o
compiz-fusion eu não consegui entender se tu já tinhas feito o que eu
vou te perguntar.

Mas então, tu desse uma olhada nos guias de configuração do X e de
ativação da aceleração 3d?

Instala o fusion-icon, inicia ele do terminal com:

INTEL_BATCH=1 fusion-icon &

O ícone vai aparecer na área de notificação, o INTEL_BATCH vai ajudar ele a
lidar com a placa da Intel (assumindo que é a mesma que você mencionou no
tópico anterior).

Acabei de lembrar.
Depois de uma certa versão do Mesa, nunca mais consegui usar compiz no
Gnome.
Tu estás usando Gnome?

Prá mim no XFCE4 funciona direitinho... E no gnome dava erros estranhos.
Também, isso são warnings, então o compiz deveria rodar, de qualquer
maneira, mesmo com os warnings.

Depois de varios testes, o problema se resume que, ao usar o compiz com
gerenciador de janelas, ele perde o window decortation, porem os efeitos
funcionam, quando volto pro metacity nenhum efeito funciona.... alguem sabe
o que pode ser?

Se o defeito é só esse, não é o mesmo problema que eu tive com o GNOME. Você
ativou o plugin "Decoração de Janela" do Compiz né? Sem isso, de fato, as
janelas ficam sem decoração.

Use o CCSM para verificar e se for o caso, ativar esse plugin.
