Instala o fusion-icon, inicia ele do terminal com:

INTEL_BATCH=1 fusion-icon &

O ícone vai aparecer na área de notificação, o INTEL_BATCH vai ajudar ele a lidar com a placa da Intel (assumindo que é a mesma que você mencionou no tópico anterior).

Acabei de lembrar.
Depois de uma certa versão do Mesa, nunca mais consegui usar compiz no Gnome.
Tu estás usando Gnome?

Prá mim no XFCE4 funciona direitinho... E no gnome dava erros estranhos.
Também, isso são warnings, então o compiz deveria rodar, de qualquer maneira, mesmo com os warnings.
