[gentoo-soc] identity.gentoo.org : report #1

Hello,

This is my first report since the beginning of GSoC. As I said in my
blog post[1] and my mail in -soc ML[2], I'll work with Gentoo
Identity, an LDAP webUI that aims to be a general-usage application
that will allow users - developers - recruiters - administrators to
configure their attributes easily from Gentoo's LDAP server.

To begin with, this week I set up an LDAP in my box in order to test
the application and my mentor(tampakrap) also gave me access to a
testing server at Gentoo's infrastructure. About the front-end side of
the app I created the basic design of identity.gentoo.org using
Twitter's bootstrap CSS framework. Also I designed the login page and
I created a new developers list and a foundation members list with
hard-coded names (at the moment). In addition I used django-compressor
library to compress Javascript and CSS. Also I removed redundant
things from js and css files in order to minify them as much as
possible. Finally, I have almost finished the new replacement of
perl_ldap script, written in python.

Next week my exams are going to end and I'll have more time to work
with Identity. My plans are to finish my design stuff and also to
begin the design of user profile pages and user's settings. Finally at
the end of the next week I am going to commit my new python script to
Github.
