Hi, I'm interested in working on a package statistics reporting tool for
Gentoo, for GSoC 2011. I've already posted my ideas to the gentoo-soc
mailing list. Considering your work on Smolt/Gentoo integration in GSoC
2009, I would request some advice. Why'd you choose to extend Smolt rather
than writing a new application from scratch ? Would it be a good idea to
extend Smolt for adding additional stats for my project (bloat in smolt ?) ?
Or should I build a new client/server from scratch (considering smolt still
depends on hal for hardware detection) ?
