Hello, gentle reader!

I am Robert Seaton and, for this iteration of GSoC, I am proposing the production of an unholy fusion of Plan9 userspace and Gentoo base system into a Frankenstein-esque mash called Glentoo. In the spirit of openness and brotherhood, I've made my proposal public, and you can view it at: http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2011/rps/1

A poignant excerpt:

"The objectives of the Glentoo project are two-fold:

1) Glentoo aims to introduce radically different userspace paradigms to the Linux community with the hope of acting as a catalyst for new ideas.

2) Glentoo will act as an introduction to Gentoo for users that would not typically become involved in the Gentoo project otherwise. I hope to transform both general FOSS tinkerers and Plan 9 aficianados into long term Gentoo contributors."

Don't forget to check out the rest of my proposal! Get excited! :)

Hi there, again, gentle reader!

I've put together an ebuild for a 2.6.31.6 Linux kernel with experimental Plan 9 support. This was recommended by my mentor, Anant, since we could not come up with a suitable bug for fixing.

The code currently resides at https://github.com/robertseaton/glendix-sources

Hope you find it useful,
- rps
