Hello all,
This (last) week, the following has been accomplished:
1.) All previous pull-requests have been pulled:
- This includes the following features:
* layman-overlay-maker utility script.
* layman-mounter utility.
* Squashfs overlay support.
* Portage Sync Plug-in.
* Modular overlay types.
* etc.
2.) Documentation changes:
- In preparation for a new release, layman's
version, layman,cfg, and man pages have
all been changed to reflect the newest
improvements to layman.
3.) G-Common overlay support removed:
- It was discussed with the #gentoo-science
community that g-common was no longer
in use. So in favor of having it's successor,
g-sorcery supported, we removed the un-used
overlay type.
4.) Modular configuration types:
- Aside from the make.conf and repos.conf
repo configuration files, the modular plug-in
system has been implemented to allow users
to add more repo config options by simply adding
the config plug-in to the config_modules dir in layman's
codebase locally.
- This also allows for maintaining the config types more
simple.
5.) Code Refining:
- The layman-9999 ebuild has been modified to reflect
the improvements to layman and allow users to test
the current features before it becomes a new release.
- Some things have been changed to remove found bugs
reported by users running the live ebuild.
It's been an absolute pleasure working on this project over the course of
the program and I personally am extremely pleased with how it turned out.
I look forward to lending my hand with layman in the future as well so I can
further contribute to the awesome Gentoo community.
With regards,
Devan Franchini

I has been a pleasurable experience working with you this past summer as
well. Yes there has been a lot of headway made to layman's code base
that I had been wanting to do for some time. (A hazard of taking on
too many projects :/ )
Thank you for you hard work
