Hello folk-
For folk who have submitted applications, please take a second look at
your proposal, specifically the public comments.
Please note you should be subscribed to your proposal also, but verify
it- the mentors/reviewers use the public comments to ask for
clarification/expanding of proposals, or to point out if there was an
issue with the application where the proposal didn't get pasted.
It's in your interest to answer whatever questions the mentors level,
so please ensure that you're subscribed and that you've addressed any
questions.
Thanks, and good luck!

Thank you for your note. It's really should be a default option that
the proposal is subscribed by the submitter.
Anyway, I guess most of us have paid much attention so that the
comments should not be missed :)

If you think it should be on by default go to:
http://code.google.com/p/soc/issues/detail?id=748
There you can vote for having it on by default.

I think you mean http://code.google.com/p/soc/issues/detail?id=768
748 is about differentiating b/w a zero score and no score.

And what about students who have no comments on the proposal yet? Does only
the mentor comment on the proposal?

No, all mentors review all projects and post comments/feedback if they have any.

Rahul,
Everyone does read the proposal, but the lack of public comments doesn't
mean anything good or bad. No public comments only means that nobody
who's read it has had any questions. We're still discussing the proposal
privately among the mentors and evaluating it.
