Hello everyone,
I'm interested in participating this year in the GSoC, after 5 years of being
a happy gentoo user I need to contribute back. I started using gentoo because
it was the only OS that could boot my PC after a bolt of lightning hit my city
and burned many electronic devices. Gentoo kept my PC working for about 7
months after it completely crashed and a motherboard replacement was the only
possible fix. After using gentoo, I was very happy with it's speed, performance
and the huge change it gives to customize it.
I was looking at the list of project ideas and one called my attention, the
"Shape up linear algebra, FORTRAN, and make benchmark suite". I am physicist
and I'm really interested in this topic, I actually need this for my future
work so it's an awesome opportunity for me. Has someone further ideas for this
proposal, to make it into a complete application? Sebástien Fabbro, I bcc'd
you, are you still interested in mentoring this?
About me: My full name is Óscar Andrés Nájera Ocampo and I'm currently 21
years old, live in Ecuador and as mentioned before I'm a Physics student with
a strong focus on simulations. I started doing web-developing while I was in
High school, programing first in HTML, then PHP, nowdays I program in C, C++
for my college assignments.
Thanks for your ideas and collaboration, I would love to work on this
assignment and appreciate any help I could get from mentors and other
community members.
Thanks for reading,
Óscar Nájera
