I'm just wondering, if this list's still alive?

I've received like hundreds of emails via gentoo-users, but zero here.
Well, besides the one from the mailing list manager script.

	gentoo-server had always been low traffic, but it seems to have died 
off completely the last few years or so. Most of us are on gentoo-users 
as well so you're not likely to reach a different set of users. I for 
one would like to see more server talk and less openrc, x windows, video 
card, etc etc stuff.

That makes four of us.

According to this [1], this list really started to die after 2006 and is
practically dead since 2009.

I guess now that there has been some traffic on this list, within less
than a day, there will be a few failed attempts to unsubscribe from
people who have long ago stopped using Gentoo but never noticed they
were still subscribed here. That always happens on these
so-low-traffic-it-is-not-really-here lists.

That is because our servers are so stable and well maintained that there is
no much to discuss, unlike the desktop kids.

That's true from where I'm looking.
Right now I'm thinking of moving over to g a couple of ubuntu 10 LTS servers running as file servers using samba over to gentoo. Why? Gentoo is more stable and easier to maintain, hands down. More stable as i can install only what is needed and so avoid upgrading a bunch of packages i dont need. But i'm preaching to the choir here.

wtever I have a gentoo installed desktop from 2007, still didn't get any

For me it's that gentoo doesn't break things as easily as other distros (no
flame war intended please)
Portage let's you try before committing and once committed you then have
dispatch-conf so as not to break all your config files unless you choose to
do so.
Plus I can install the minimum packages needed to provide whatever services
I need which then means that there is a minimum of upgrades needed as there
is less to upgrade.
