hello sysadmins :)

is there a performance difference in apache between static and dynamic 
linked modules? since there is no 'apache-builtin-mods'-file anymore, 
all modules have to be either static or dynamic - am i right?

why they removed the modules-file?

yes, there is, static modules generally make apache faster

correct

because it breaks binary packages and portage will overwrite it on every 
update, as outlined at [1]

There aren't any config changes between 2.2.6 and 2.2.8 right? Google  
isn't finding me anything....

Some minor changes have been made (e.g. OSX 10.5 support in mod_dav config)
